While many are drawn to the teachings of St. Francis and
St. Clare, not everyone is called to a lifelong vow as a woman religious.

The Sojourner relationship is a way for lay people to
make a commitment to deepening their spirituality without abandoning secular
life. Sojourners are adult men and women of all ages and faith
backgrounds. Some are single
some are married
some have children.
Most live in their own homes. All share a desire to be attentive to
Jesus and the Gospel message, to learn more about the Francis and Clare, and
take an active role in the mission of the Clinton Franciscans.

After prayerful discernment and a simple application
process, each Sojourner is matched with a companion a vowed member of the
Sisters of St. Francis who guides them in designing a customized program of
study and prayer. This program also includes:
congregational meetings and gatherings
meetings with her or his Companion
in a ministry of service
an annual retreat
with other Sojourners
to a life of active nonviolence and peace
