The Clinton Franciscans number 73 sisters, 1 Novice,
2 Candidates, 3 Sojourners, and 71 Associates , : men and women who have formed a covenant relationship with the congregation to share in its mission and to enhance their own spiritual growth.   Clinton Franciscans serve in eight states, and, in Chulucanas, Peru.

Their headquarters remains in Clinton with primary residence at The Canticle.

The history of the Sisters of St. Francis now of Clinton, Iowa, dates back to 1866 in Gethsemani, Kentucky.

The Leadership Council consists of four sisters who are elected to four-year terms. The last election was during Chapter 2004.

The "Clinton Franciscans" are one of 200 Franciscan congregations in the US today
and one of over 600 Franciscan congregations worldwide.
