Driving Directions to The Canticle From the NORTH (Highway 67)

  • Take Highway 67 into Clinton. This is Clinton's 3rd ST. At the first stoplight, which is MAIN AVENUE, turn RIGHT.
  • Continue on Main Avenue about 1 mile to the MILL CREEK EXPRESSWAY. Turn left onto it.
  • Continue to the first intersection, which is 16TH STREET, and turn LEFT.
  • Continue to the "T" intersection and turn LEFT onto 13th AVENUE NORTH.

Continue through a 4-way stop sign intersection (with a Casey's on the corner) and through a stoplight intersection (SPRINGDALE DRIVE) and up the hill to the 2nd driveway on the right - just past the entrance to The Alverno Health Care Facility. Watch for the sign, "The Canticle / Sisters of St. Francis." The same driveway serves "Regency Retirement Residence." Turn RIGHT and follow the drive to its conclusion at The Canticle.


Driving Directions to The Canticle From the SOUTH (Highway 67)

  • Take Highway 67 into Clinton.*Lincoln Way then becomes Clinton's Camanche AVE. Keep driving straight through all the traffic lights.
  • Follow bends in Camanche AVE. Keep driving straight through and once past the Bridge crossing the Mississippi River (Highway 30) the road becomes 3rd ST.
  • Drive straight past the bridge on 3rd ST.
  • Drive straight on 3rd ST through all the traffic lights until 13th AVE N is reached. Turn left. Drive approximately one-half mile.
  • The Canticle Entrance will be on the left. Watch for the sign, "The Canticle / Sisters of St. Francis"

Follow the driveway through the prairie to the two-story, light brick building at the end of the driveway. Parking is available in front and at either end of the building.

**(Highway 67 from the township of Camanche intersects Lincoln Way. When Lincoln Way is reached from this route, turn right. Then follow directions)


Driving Directions to The Canticle From the WEST (Highway 30)

  • Take Highway 30 into Clinton.
  • About 17 miles east of DeWitt, the speed limit drops to 55 mph and you will come to a STOP LIGHT intersection.
  • This is Mill Creek Expressway. Turn LEFT onto the Expressway. NOTE: the speed limit is 45 mph.
  • Continue to 13th Avenue North. Turn RIGHT onto 13th Avenue North.

Continue through a stop sign intersection and a stop LIGHT intersection. As you reach the crest of a small hill beyond the stop LIGHT, you will see first the driveway to The Alverno and then the driveway to THE CANTICLE. Watch for the sign, "The Canticle / Sisters of St. Francis"Follow the driveway through the prairie to the two-story, light brick building at the end of the driveway. Parking is available in front and at either end of the building.


Driving Directions to The Canticle From the EAST (Highway 30)

  • Take Highway 30 into Clinton via the bridge crossing the Mississippi River.
  • At the bottom of the bridge, the intersection is a traffic light. Hwy. 30 at that point is 8th AVENUE SOUTH. Turn right at the intersection at the foot of the bridge onto 3rd STREET - a one-way going north.
  • Continue on 3rd STREET through the downtown district and until 13th AVENUE NORTH is reached. It is a stop light intersection in a residential area. Turn left.

Drive up the hill approximately one half mile. The Canticle entrance will be on the left. Watch for the sign, "The Canticle / Sisters of St. Francis" and follow the drive to its conclusion at The Canticle. The same driveway serves "Regency Retirement Resident".

Driving Directions to The Canticle From the EAST (Highway 136 Fulton IL)

  • Take Highway 136 into Clinton from FULTON, IL.
  • That bridge crossing the Mississippi River is Clinton's 19th AVENUE NORTH.
  • At the foot of the bridge, the 2nd intersection is a traffic light. Turn LEFT onto 2nd STREET.
  • Continue on 2nd STREET to 13th AVENUE NORTH. (A Jewel food store is on your left AND A Valvoline shop is on your right). Turn RIGHT.

Continue through two stoplight intersections and for another half mile. The Canticle Entrance will be on the left. Watch for the sign, "The Canticle / Sisters of St. Francis." The same driveway serves the "Regency Retirement Residence." Turn left and follow the drive to its conclusion at The Canticle.
