Instruments of Peace

"Instruments of Peace" is a letter published by the Conference of the Franciscan Family - the collaborative body which unites Franciscans worldwide.

This particular letter, issued in Rome on Pentecost, 2005, is about being "messengers of peace" in today's world. It is a quintessential document that defines in contemporary terms what the Franciscan charism represents. It is also particularly significant in that it recognized peacemaking as the heart of Franciscan charism.

It has been studied by the Clinton Franciscans intensely and continues to be an inspiration for our mission.Chapters include:
  • Our Mission: To Announce Peace
  • An Itinerary for Peace
  • Purifying the Memory
  • The Difficult Path of Peace
  • Promoting Good
  • At the Service of Love
