Featuring Joe Madison "The Black Eagle"
We are excited to welcome radio talk show host and political activist, Joe Madison as the keynote speaker at this year's MLK Celebration event!
In addition to a long and successful career in radio, Mr. Madison has served on the NAACP's national board of directors, led four separate voter registration marches, and has worked tirelessly to help the oppressed, traveling to Sudan on three separate occasions to help free over 7,000 slaves and deliver survival kits to refugees. Mr. Madison answers his own signature question, "What are you going to do about it," by actively engaging in the very issues he discusses on his radio show. In doing so, he has gone to jail for civil disobedience, taken part in hunger strikes in opposition to apartheid in South Africa and traveled to Sudan to fight genocide and slavery there.
The 12th Annual MLK Peace and Justice Award
will be presented at the event.
Canned good donations are requested in honor of the MLK Day of Service
and will be given to local pantries.
Refreshments will be served following the program.
Celebration planned and sponsored by: YWCA of Clinton, Clinton Community College, Ashford University, Sisters of St. Francis, MLK Celebration Committee, and made possible by contributions from many businesses, community organizations, and individuals.
