Mount St. Clare Education Foundation

The rich history and vibrant heritage of "The Mount" is being preserved to benefit current and future students of Ashford University under the auspices of the Mount Saint Clare Education Foundation.

In order to continue the long practice of offering scholarships to deserving students with financial need, the Foundation was established as the successor nonprofit / tax-deductible entity of Mount St. Clare College.

"We see the Foundation as our most productive way to support the students of higher education in Clinton now that the future of the University has been assured through the transfer of ownership to Bridgepoint Education," explained Janice Cebula OSF, President of the Clinton Franciscans in 2005. "The Sisters of St. Francis were founded nearly 140 years ago in eastern Kentucky to teach the daughters of local farmers following the devastation of the Civil War. Providing education in a local setting for those who need it most has always been a hallmark of our ministry," she noted.

Through the generosity of many people, a number of endowed scholarships have been established over the years. The Foundation will continue to accept donations to these endowed scholarship funds and to establish new memorial scholarships according to donor specifications. The alumni have always been strong supporters of the scholarship program along with local businesses and industries.

The scholarships are awarded in conjunction with the Ashford University according to the criteria established by the donors. For more information, contact the Ashford University Financial Aid Office.
