Earth

Phyllis Morris, OSF
Author of "Earthworms Are Our Friends"

"(We will) care for our earth by practicing and promoting conservation, mindful consumption, and by working toward a sustainable way of living."

-from the 2008 Chapter Commitment Statement

As Franciscans, we are committed to care of the earth. Francis saw all creation as brother and sister - all one in the family of God. Today it is more important than ever that we learn from Francis' example and live in ways that sustain and not drain our earth. This connectedness with creation is integral to our Franciscan lifestyle.

Caring for creation involves working to reduce our carbon foot print by pursuing Alternative Energy sources, building awareness for and addressing the needs of Climate Change, concern for Food and Water issues.

Learn more about how we care for the earth at our home, The Canticle, the surrounding Prairie and at our Administrative Office building.

We invite you to get involved with the Clinton Franciscans on these important issues. Find out how you make a difference in our Join Us section.
