As women of faith, in union with Christ, we, the Sisters of St. Francis, Clinton, Iowa, embrace this responsibility to be revealers of God's presence by our lives, and to be co-creators of a world of love, justice, and peace.

Driven by our
Mission Statement the Clinton Franciscans are committed to bringing about positive change in society. That work can take many forms: influencing lawmakers, prayer, educating individuals, mobilizing citizens to participate in the democratic process and giving a voice to the poor and marginalized.
We work to promote
active nonviolence and peacemaking by taking action towards nuclear disarmament, preventing war and resolving conflict, eliminating torture and institutions of violence such as the infamous "School for the Americas."
The search for
justice includes working to alleviate poverty; exposing human trafficking and working to end it; advocating for adequate health care, comprehensive immigration reform, and elimination of the death penalty.
We care for the
earth by promoting alternative energy, addressing climate change, and dealing with food and water concerns.
