The Sisters of St. Francis of
Clinton, Iowa, follow the traditions of Saint Francis and Saint Clare who lived in Assisi, Italy, in the
13th century.
Peacemaking is central to the Franciscan charism.
The Clinton Franciscans, having adopted active nonviolence and peacemaking as a way of life, seek to share this charism with others through
