FRANCISCAN
PEACEMAKING

Learning experiences to

enhance knowledge

 and understanding

  of nonviolence and

 peacemaking in the

Franciscan

tradition

The Sisters of St. Francis of  Clinton, Iowa, follow the traditions of Saint Francis and Saint Clare who lived in Assisi, Italy, in the  13th century.

Peacemaking is central to the  Franciscan charism.

The Clinton Franciscans, having adopted active nonviolence and peacemaking as a way of life, seek to share this charism with others through

FRANCISCAN
PEACEMAKING.

Those who share this sense of  urgency for making peace
central to all levels of life
will

study the principles of active  nonviolence,

discover ways to make a  personal commitment to  nonviolence

and explore ways of  advocacy for peace.

The course is divided into three sessions
 with specific objectives

  • Relationship with the “poor”  as essential to peacemaking.
